Kid Connections/Teen Connections (Ages 3-17, grouped by developmental level) These friendship groups will be geared towards the interests of participants and will often include active games, crafts, science activities, and outings that build impulse control, following directions, conflict resolution, and emotional expression. Throughout the group, children will benefit from coaching and modeling to help them understand others’ perspectives and identify prosocial ways of communicating their wants and needs, while also considering the impact of their actions on others.
Middle School Resiliency Group (Ages 11-14) Based on play therapy and cognitive behavioral concepts, this group will focus on building self esteem and helping middle schoolers identify helpful versus harmful thought patterns and coping skills needed to navigate the many social/emotional challenges that come with early adolescence. Activities will vary based on participant interests, but will likely include arts and crafts, teamwork games and challenges, and mindfulness activities.
